My assembly is coming up in a few weeks. Can't wait.
Did anybody attend the last special day assembly? There was a point in one of the talks that I found strange. I wonder if anybody remembers it. They gave us a list of things that "prove" we are in the last days. On the list was something about the shrinking number of anointed. I think that was on the list. Does this ring a bell with anybody? Just curious.
I'll post some of my adventures from the assembly after I go. Thanks for yours, I know what to expect.

One Good Reason to Register and Post Here
by YoursChelbie inwhe i came across this forum at first i just read the various posts for a month or so.
deep down, i knew the real truth was not with the watchtower organization, but i couldn't pin point exactly why i felt that way, and why i had so many doubts.
then i saw something that made me want to jump right into the conversation.

It started with the 607 debate. I was actually just curious about the date (not even looking for "apostate" webpages). I googled 607 B.C.E. to just find some info about the history of it all and was amazed at what I found. I had seen all of these webpages before but never gave them consideration. I even knew about Ray Franzs books, but didn't give them much regard. It took me years to buy Ray Franzs books, and after I finally read them all of my most important questions where there.
For years I felt my lack of faith was in God, but I finally realized it was in men. -

JW Shunning is it really Biblical?
by greendawn inthe watchtower society has this practice of expelling and then shunning members for a number of reasons, often trivial, causing to the expelled a great deal of problems in the family, socially and psychologically.
but is there any real basis in the bible for this practice?
does it empower them as they claim, to expel people or are they once more twisting the scriptures to suit themselves?

I don't think we should be talking about this guys. We might get in BIG trouble. Then we wouldn't be able to see each other any more. In all reality, I believe the Bible is telling us we need to MAKE UP OUR OWN MIND on who is good association and who is bad. It's not telling us to go into group hate.

I noticed a subtle difference in Topics...it's fascinating!
by Gill ini started reading and joined this forum over a year ago.. to me it was then, and still is a wonderful freedom that i'd never experienced before, having been trapped in dub land my whole life.
i was totally alone with my husband on our thoughts of the wtbts and had no idea so many people felt the same.
mainly i read and discussed things on how 'we' all coped now that we were well into our fades or had already escaped completely.

Thanks for the heartfelt welcome! Of course I faded over a year ago, but didn't realize until 2 months ago.
I actually kept away from this board on purpose for a while because I felt that everyone was to bitter. I got past that. What else am I going to do. I'm stuck in for another few years, might as well complain.
Mabye we should get a new tagline:
"Keep on Fadin..." -

If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it's probably......
by LDH ina duck!!!
the wbts acts like a cult.
it looks and operates like a cult.

The reason I feel it is a cult is in the way field service is carried out. It is obvious that they do not want lots of people coming to their meetings all at once. Each new member must be hand selected, trained and groomed before they even become part of the group. If they really wanted to spread the word they could, but its all about mind control.

Dear Dr. Spock,
I just wanted to let you know a little bit about what your stupid book started. You see, every time I attend the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses somehow, somewhere I have to hear mention of how your book proves "worldly wisdom" is no good. Don't get me wrong, I love the old episodes of your old tv show. But man, why did you have to write that book? Don't spank your kids? Didn't you know that every Jehovahs Witness Elder across America would be on your ass in their public talks? I know it's not your fault totally, but can't you at least write Brooklyn Bethel a letter and tell them to stop this madness. We got to get the word out to all the congregations that this has got to stop. If I hear one more stupid comment at a Watchtower Study about your book we might just find ourselves in more than just words. Just asking that you think about us annoyed JWs before your write, thats all. Live long and prosper.
